Dot NAME Domains

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain name extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to obtain john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased 3rd-level domain names remained functional.

You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar company and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no special conditions on who can secure a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
